The History of Forget-Me-Not Flower Shop
Forget-Me Not Flowers opened June 1, 2004, in charming historic house just down the street from where Lexington Floral operated. Kim Schrack had worked many years under several of Mansfield's flower shops, and Connie Homerick had trained in New Orleans, earning her certificate of floral design. As employees of Lexington Floral, Kim and Connie knew the time was right for them when they purchased the business from it's retiring owner.
In April 2007, Connie left to pursue other interests, but still has a very active role in every aspect of the shop. Although their passion for flowers keeps them going, they are especially thankful to their husbands for their talents and efforts in the move and renovations; to their family and friends for their varied contributions and encouragement; and especially their many loyal customers, whose support and suggestions continue to inspire them. They look forward to being a valuable part of Lexington and the surrounding area for many years to come.

Owner
In 1980 I started in the floral industry making planters and dish gardens for Walter J. Engle Greenhouses in Columbus, Ohio. Returning to Mansfield, I worked the greenhouse at Kafer's Flowers where I had the honor of working with Charles Kafer, and his son, Dave. A short stint at a bridal shop as clerk/seamstress reinforced my love of weddings, but, it was flowers, not dresses, that I needed to be involved with.
After the birth of my daughter, I returned to work at Tuttle the Florist, where I developed my style under owner Paul Danas, whose work still influences me today. After 4 years at home to stay with my children, I returned to flowers, starting at Lexington Floral. I learned to never say never, as I thought I would never own my own shop, but I can't stay away...Flowers are what I do!
